A stroke or head injury can be devastating for the individual and the family. A stroke or CVA (cerbrovascular accident) is either a blockage or hemorrhage of a blood vessel in the brain that can cause decreased strength and control in one side of the body. Physical therapy can help individuals who have had a stroke or a head injury to increase their strength, motor coordination and control, walk again, and increase their functional independence. We also work with the family members to learn appropriate ways to assist the patient in improving their functional independence.
